Ingredients

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking powder

½ tsp cinnamon

¼ tsp salt

2 tbsp sugar

1 egg

½ cup milk

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 tbsp melted butter

1 apple (peeled, diced small)

1 tbsp brown sugar

½ tsp cinnamon (for apples)

For the Glaze:

½ cup powdered sugar

12 tbsp milk

Dash of vanilla extract


Instructions

Cook the Apples

In a small pan, sauté diced apples with brown sugar and cinnamon over medium heat until tender (about 5 minutes). Let cool.

Make the Batter

In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, cinnamon, salt, and sugar.

In another bowl, mix egg, milk, vanilla, and melted butter.

Combine wet and dry ingredients, then fold in cooked apples.

Waffle It

Preheat your waffle iron (preferably a mini one for donut shapes).

Lightly grease, then spoon in batter and cook until golden brown and crisp (3–5 minutes).

Glaze Time
