Ingredients
3 strips bacon
2 Tbsp finely chopped pecans
1 Tbsp brown sugar
1 tsp chili powder
Sea salt (to taste)
2 Tbsp unsalted butter
2 Golden Delicious apples, peeled, cored, sliced ½″ thick
3 Tbsp pure maple syrup, divided
¼ tsp ground cinnamon
1 (8 oz) round Brie cheese
1 tsp chopped fresh rosemary (optional)
Instructions
Make Praline Bacon: Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with foil. Lay bacon strips on it. In a bowl, mix pecans, brown sugar, chili powder, and salt; sprinkle over bacon. Bake 18–20 minutes until crisp and caramelized. Let cool, then chop.
Caramelize Apples: In a skillet, melt butter over medium-high heat. Add apple slices and 1 Tbsp maple syrup. Sauté until tender and golden (~8 minutes). Stir in remaining 2 Tbsp syrup and cinnamon. Remove from heat.
Assemble Brie: Place Brie on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Top with the caramelized apples. Bake 5 minutes until softened. Sprinkle with praline bacon, then bake another 2–3 minutes.
Serve: Transfer to a serving platter. Sprinkle with sea salt and rosemary, if using. Serve warm with crackers or sliced baguette.
