Description

A flavor-packed twist on the classic Sloppy Joes, combining juicy ground beef with savory marinara and gooey mozzarella cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb. Ground Beef (or Italian Sausage)
  • 1 large Onion, diced
  • 1 medium Bell Pepper, diced (green or red)
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14 oz.) Crushed Tomatoes
  • 1 cup Marinara Sauce
  • 1 cup Mozzarella Cheese, shredded
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Oregano
  • Fresh Basil, for garnish
  • Baguette or Soft Rolls, for serving
  • Olive Oil, for sautéing

Instructions

  1. Preheat your Blackstone griddle on medium-high heat.
  2. Drizzle olive oil onto the griddle, and add diced onions and bell peppers. Sauté for 5-7 minutes until soft.
  3. Push the veggies to one side and add in the ground beef. Cook for 8-10 minutes until browned.
  4. Add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  5. Pour in crushed tomatoes and marinara sauce. Let it simmer for 5-10 minutes.
  6. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese over the mixture and cover to melt for 3-5 minutes.
  7. Slice your baguette or rolls in half. Optionally toast on the griddle.
  8. Spoon generous amounts of the mixture onto each roll and garnish with fresh basil.
  9. Serve with napkins on hand for a deliciously messy meal!
