A flavor-packed twist on the classic Sloppy Joes, combining juicy ground beef with savory marinara and gooey mozzarella cheese.

- 1 lb. Ground Beef (or Italian Sausage)
- 1 large Onion, diced
- 1 medium Bell Pepper, diced (green or red)
- 3 cloves Garlic, minced
- 1 can (14 oz.) Crushed Tomatoes
- 1 cup Marinara Sauce
- 1 cup Mozzarella Cheese, shredded
- 1 teaspoon Dried Oregano
- Fresh Basil, for garnish
- Baguette or Soft Rolls, for serving
- Olive Oil, for sautéing
Instructions
- Preheat your Blackstone griddle on medium-high heat.
- Drizzle olive oil onto the griddle, and add diced onions and bell peppers. Sauté for 5-7 minutes until soft.
- Push the veggies to one side and add in the ground beef. Cook for 8-10 minutes until browned.
- Add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
- Pour in crushed tomatoes and marinara sauce. Let it simmer for 5-10 minutes.
- Sprinkle mozzarella cheese over the mixture and cover to melt for 3-5 minutes.
- Slice your baguette or rolls in half. Optionally toast on the griddle.
- Spoon generous amounts of the mixture onto each roll and garnish with fresh basil.
- Serve with napkins on hand for a deliciously messy meal!
Notes
Feel free to use turkey or plant-based meat alternatives. Experiment with toppings and serve with fries or salad.
