- 2 cups brown sugar
- 1 large egg + 1 egg yolk
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour

- 1 teaspoon baking soda

- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- Brown the butter in a saucepan over medium heat until it turns golden brown and smells nutty.
- Combine brown sugar, egg, egg yolk, and vanilla extract in a mixing bowl. Stir in the cooled brown butter.
- Fold in flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking soda until just combined.
- Cream together the brown sugar, butter, egg, and vanilla in another bowl for the cookie dough.
- Mix in the flour, baking soda, and salt, then fold in the chocolate chips.
- Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly.
- Scoop dollops of cookie dough over the brownie layer.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes or until edges are set; a toothpick should come out with a few moist crumbs.
- Cool for at least 20 minutes before slicing into squares.
Notes
For extra flavor, consider adding white chocolate chips or nuts. Serve with a sprinkle of sea salt or a scoop of ice cream for a delightful treat.
