Description
This cozy dessert wraps everything you love about fall into one warm, indulgent dish. Soft cubes of bread soak up a rich custard spiced with cinnamon, baked with tender apples, and drizzled in luscious caramel sauce. Serve it warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for pure comfort in every bite.
Ingredients
6 cups cubed day-old bread (brioche or challah works best)
2 apples, peeled, cored, and diced
4 large eggs
2 cups heavy cream (or half-and-half)
½ cup brown sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp vanilla extract
½ cup caramel sauce (plus extra for drizzling)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
Spread bread cubes and diced apples evenly in the dish.
In a bowl, whisk eggs, cream, brown sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla. Pour evenly over bread and apples, pressing gently so bread soaks up the custard.
Drizzle with ½ cup caramel sauce.
Bake 40–45 minutes, until golden and set in the center.
Serve warm with extra caramel and optional ice cream.
