Ingredients
For the cookies:
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
½ cup black cocoa powder
½ tsp baking powder
¼ tsp salt
For decoration:
Green royal icing (pipeable consistency)
Candy pearls, mini gumballs, or sprinkles
Optional: Fondant bones or candy eyeballs
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add egg and vanilla.
In another bowl, whisk flour, black cocoa, baking powder, and salt.
Gradually mix dry ingredients into the wet mixture.
Roll dough into 1-inch balls and flatten slightly.
Bake for 8–10 minutes until edges are set. Cool completely.
Pipe green royal icing in small round “bubbles” on top of each cookie.
While icing is wet, press in candy pearls and gumballs for a potion look.
Top with fondant bones, eyeballs, or other spooky toppings for that final magical touch.
