- 1 package Cheese Tortellini (fresh or frozen)
- 1 pound Italian Sausage (mild or spicy)
- 2 cups Broccoli Florets
- 3 cloves Garlic, minced
- 1 cup Heavy Cream
- 1 cup Parmesan Cheese, freshly grated
- 1 tablespoon Olive Oil
- Salt & Pepper to taste
Instructions
- Cook the tortellini in a large pot of salted boiling water according to package instructions until they float; about 3-5 minutes for fresh.
- Sauté the sausage in olive oil over medium heat for 5-7 minutes until browned.
- Add the minced garlic and broccoli; sauté for 2-3 minutes until broccoli is bright and garlic is fragrant.
- Create your creamy sauce by pouring in heavy cream and bringing to a simmer; stir in Parmesan cheese until melted and thickened.
- Combine the tortellini with the sauce, adding reserved pasta water if needed. Season to taste.
- Serve hot, garnished with additional Parmesan and parsley if desired.
Notes
For a lighter version, substitute heavy cream with a dairy-free alternative. This dish is best enjoyed fresh but can be prepped in advance for convenience.
