Description

This recipe is like a cozy French bistro meal, made easy in your own kitchen. The rich onion flavors, tender chicken, and melted cheese remind me of Sunday dinners that felt a little extra special—with hardly any work at all. It’s hearty, comforting, and so simple to love.

Ingredients

Scale

2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts

1 cup sliced onion

1 can (10.5 oz) condensed French onion soup

1 packet (1 oz) onion soup mix

23 slices Swiss cheese

French fried onions (optional, for topping)

Fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

Layer Ingredients: Place sliced onions at the bottom of the crockpot. Top with chicken breasts.

Add Soups: Pour condensed French onion soup over the chicken and sprinkle the soup mix evenly on top.

Slow Cook: Cover and cook on LOW for 5–6 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours, until chicken is tender.

Add Cheese: Place Swiss cheese slices over the chicken in the last 10 minutes of cooking. Cover until melted.

Serve: Top with crispy French fried onions and parsley if desired.

Notes

Elegant enough for guests, easy enough for weeknights—this dish brings French flair to your crockpot lineup.
