Ingredients

  • 1 pound shrimp
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Rinse the shrimp under cold water and pat dry with a paper towel. Season with salt and pepper.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter and sauté the minced garlic until fragrant and golden, about 1-2 minutes.
  3. Add the shrimp to the skillet in a single layer, cooking undisturbed for 2-3 minutes until pink, then flip and cook for another minute or two until fully opaque.
  4. Lower the heat to medium-low, pour in the heavy cream while gently stirring, and let it bubble for a minute.
  5. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth. Adjust thickness with water or more cream if necessary.
  6. Sprinkle in fresh parsley, stir, and serve hot over pasta or rice.

Notes

For a lighter version, substitute heavy cream with half and half or coconut milk. Feel free to experiment with spices and herbs.
