Description
This one-pan wonder is savory, slightly sweet (if not Whole30), and ultra satisfying. Ground beef and crisp broccoli soak up a rich, Asian-inspired sauce—ready in under 30 minutes and perfect for clean eating.
Ingredients
1 tbsp olive oil or avocado oil
3 cups broccoli florets, chopped
1 lb ground beef
½ cup coconut aminos
½ cup chicken or beef broth
1 tbsp coconut sugar (omit for Whole30)
2 tsp rice vinegar
1 tsp sesame oil
1 tbsp arrowroot flour mixed with 1 tbsp water
2 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp ground ginger
1 tsp onion powder
½ tsp sea salt
½ tsp black pepper
¼ tsp Chinese 5-spice powder (optional)
2 green onions, diced
Optional: red pepper chili flakes to taste
Instructions
Sauté broccoli: In a large skillet, heat oil over medium-high. Add broccoli and sauté for 4–5 minutes until slightly tender. Remove and set aside.
Brown the beef: In the same skillet, add ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain excess fat if needed.
Make the sauce: In a bowl, whisk coconut aminos, broth, (coconut sugar if using), vinegar, sesame oil, arrowroot slurry, and all spices.
Combine & simmer: Return broccoli to the skillet with the beef. Pour in sauce and stir well. Let simmer for 3–5 minutes until sauce thickens.
Garnish & serve: Top with green onions and chili flakes if desired. Serve hot—great on its own or over cauliflower rice.
