- ½ cup unsweetened applesauce
- 2 tablespoons coconut oil, melted
- ⅓ cup coconut sugar (or brown sugar)
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¾ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- Cooking spray
Instructions
- Prepare the Dough: In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon. In another bowl, mix applesauce, melted coconut oil, coconut sugar, and vanilla. Combine wet and dry ingredients.
- Preheat Your Air Fryer: Set your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Form the Bites: Roll the dough into small balls, about the size of a marble.
- Prepare for the Air Fryer: Spray the basket with cooking spray. Place churro bites in a single layer and spray the tops lightly.
- Air Fry the Churros: Cook for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway through until golden brown.
- Roll in Cinnamon Sugar: Mix coconut sugar with extra cinnamon and toss churros in the mixture while warm.
Notes
Add honey or maple syrup on top for extra sweetness, and serve with chocolate or yogurt dipping sauce.
