Ingredients
Pancake Base:
• 1 cup all-purpose flour
• 1 tbsp sugar
• 1 tbsp baking powder
• ½ tsp salt
• 1 large egg
• 1 cup milk
• 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
• 1 tsp vanilla extract
• 2 tbsp maple syrup (in the batter)
• 1 tbsp butter for cooking
Savory Filling:
• 4 Halal chicken or turkey sausage patties
• 4 slices Halal cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, etc.)
• Optional: spinach or arugula
Maple Syrup Drizzle:
• ¼ cup maple syrup
Instructions
1. Make Pancake Batter:
Mix dry and wet ingredients separately, then combine gently. Let the batter rest a few minutes.
2. Cook Pancakes:
Pour ¼ cup batter per pancake on a buttered skillet. Cook 2–3 mins each side until golden.
3. Cook Sausage Patties:
In a skillet, cook patties for 5–6 mins per side. Optional: sauté greens in the same pan.
4. Assemble Sandwich:
Layer pancake, sausage, cheese, (greens if using), then top with another pancake.
5. Serve & Drizzle:
Serve warm with maple syrup over the top or on the side for dipping!
