Description

This recipe is pure joy—classic comfort food with an Italian twist! I first made this for a game night with friends, and now it’s the most requested dish. Toasty garlic bread, rich meat sauce, and melted cheese come together for a meal that’s quick, hearty, and full of flavor.

Ingredients

Scale

1 lb ground beef

1 small onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup marinara or pasta sauce

1 tsp Italian seasoning

Salt & pepper, to taste

4 hoagie rolls or sub buns, split

3 tbsp butter, softened

1 tsp garlic powder

1½ cups shredded mozzarella or provolone cheese

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).

In a skillet, cook ground beef and onion over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.

Add garlic, marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5–7 minutes.

Spread garlic butter (butter mixed with garlic powder) over cut sides of hoagie rolls. Toast in oven for 3–4 minutes until golden.

Spoon the meat mixture onto the garlic bread. Top with cheese.

Bake for 5–7 minutes, until cheese is melted and bubbly.

Garnish with chopped parsley and serve warm.

Notes

Cheesy, saucy, and loaded with flavor—these Sloppy Joes are comfort food on a garlic bread mission.
