- 1 packet Jelly (any flavor)
- 1/2 cup Custard Powder
- 2 cups Milk
- 1/4 cup Sugar
- 1 cup Heavy Cream (for whipping)
- 1 cup Fresh Fruits (mixed berries or peaches)
- Mint Leaves (for garnish)
Instructions
- Make the jelly by preparing according to the package instructions; dissolve the powder in boiling water and mix with cold water.
- Pour the jelly mixture into a clear glass dish and let it set in the fridge for at least 4 hours.
- Prepare the custard by mixing custard powder and sugar in a saucepan, then slowly stir in the milk.
- Place the saucepan over medium heat and whisk continuously until it thickens (about 5-7 minutes).
- Cool the custard to room temperature, covering it with plastic wrap to prevent a skin from forming.
- Whip the heavy cream in a chilled bowl until soft peaks form.
- Layer the trifle starting with jelly, then custard, and a dollop of whipped cream; repeat until the dish is full.
- Add mixed fruits and mint leaves on top for garnish.
- Chill the assembled trifle in the fridge for at least an hour before serving.
Notes
Serve in mason jars for individual portions. You can also add crushed cookies or nuts for texture.
