Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground Beef (80/20 blend)
  • 2 Sweet Onions (Vidalia or Walla Walla)
  • 4 Soft Hamburger Buns
  • Salt and Pepper to taste
  • Condiments (Mayonnaise, Ketchup, Mustard)
  • Optional Toppings: Pickles, Cheese, Lettuce, Tomatoes

Instructions

  1. Slice your onions about ¼ inch thick.
  2. Add a tablespoon of butter or oil in a skillet over medium heat and sauté the onions for about 15-20 minutes until golden-brown.
  3. Shape the beef into ¾ inch patties.
  4. Season both sides of the patties with salt and pepper.
  5. Preheat your grill or skillet over high heat.
  6. Sear the patties for 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for another 3-4 minutes for medium-rare.
  7. Top each patty with caramelized onions during the last minute of cooking.
  8. Toast the buns lightly on the grill or in a toaster.
  9. Assemble the burger with mayonnaise, patty, onions, and your choice of toppings.
  10. Serve the burgers with sides like fries or salad.
