- 1 lb Ground Beef (80/20 blend)
- 2 Sweet Onions (Vidalia or Walla Walla)
- 4 Soft Hamburger Buns
- Salt and Pepper to taste
- Condiments (Mayonnaise, Ketchup, Mustard)
- Optional Toppings: Pickles, Cheese, Lettuce, Tomatoes
Instructions
- Slice your onions about ¼ inch thick.
- Add a tablespoon of butter or oil in a skillet over medium heat and sauté the onions for about 15-20 minutes until golden-brown.
- Shape the beef into ¾ inch patties.
- Season both sides of the patties with salt and pepper.
- Preheat your grill or skillet over high heat.
- Sear the patties for 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for another 3-4 minutes for medium-rare.
- Top each patty with caramelized onions during the last minute of cooking.
- Toast the buns lightly on the grill or in a toaster.
- Assemble the burger with mayonnaise, patty, onions, and your choice of toppings.
- Serve the burgers with sides like fries or salad.
