Description

A delightful pizza featuring spicy sausage, creamy ricotta, and a drizzle of honey for a sweet and savory experience.

Ingredients

  • Pizza Dough (store-bought or homemade)
  • Italian Sausage (1 lb, crumbled)
  • Ricotta Cheese (1 cup)
  • Mozzarella Cheese (2 cups, shredded)
  • Honey (2-3 tablespoons)
  • Red Pepper Flakes (to taste)
  • Extra Virgin Olive Oil (drizzle for finishing)
  • Fresh Basil (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven now.
  2. Cook the crumbled Italian sausage in a skillet over medium heat until brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Stretch the pizza dough on a floured surface, shaping it into a round or rectangular shape, about 12-14 inches.
  4. Transfer the dough to a greased baking sheet or pizza peel. Coat the base with olive oil, then dollop the ricotta evenly over.
  5. Distribute the cooked sausage over the cheese, sprinkle with red pepper flakes, and add more mozzarella.
  6. Bake the pizza for 10-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and cheese is bubbling.
  7. Drizzle honey over the hot pizza and garnish with fresh basil.
  8. Slice into eight pieces and serve!

Notes

Pair with a simple arugula salad or a tangy dipping sauce for added flavor.
