For the toast:
4 slices sourdough bread
2 eggs
¼ cup milk
½ tsp dried Italian herbs
Salt & pepper to taste
Butter or olive oil for the skillet
Filling & toppings:
½ cup garlic whipped cream cheese
1–2 ripe heirloom tomatoes, sliced
Fresh basil leaves
Balsamic reduction (store-bought or homemade)
Instructions
Whisk eggs, milk, herbs, salt, and pepper. Dip bread slices into the mixture.
Cook on a buttered skillet over medium heat until golden on both sides.
Spread cream cheese on toast slices. Layer with tomato slices and basil.
Stack the slices (open-faced or sandwich style) and drizzle with balsamic reduction.
Serve warm, knife-and-fork style!
