Description
An irresistible seafood delight featuring tender shrimp marinated in a spicy-sweet sauce with aromatic garlic.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound Shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1/2 cup Sweet Chili Sauce
- 4 cloves Garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons Soy Sauce
- Juice of 1 Lime
- 2 teaspoons Sesame Oil
- 1 teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes (optional)
- Chopped Green Onions (for garnish)
Instructions
- Marinate the shrimp: In a bowl, combine the sweet chili sauce, minced garlic, soy sauce, lime juice, and sesame oil. Add the shrimp to the marinade and toss to coat evenly. Let it sit for at least 15-20 minutes.
- Prepare your heat source: Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat and add a splash of oil to the pan.
- Cook the shrimp: Once the pan is hot, add the marinated shrimp, spreading them out evenly. Cook for 2-3 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for another 1-2 minutes until opaque.
- Add red pepper flakes if using, during the last minute of cooking.
- Taste and adjust flavors as needed.
- Garnish and serve: Transfer the shrimp to a serving plate and sprinkle with chopped green onions.
- Plate it up: Serve over a bed of steamed rice or noodles and drizzle extra sauce over the top.
Notes
For a lighter option, serve the shrimp in crispy lettuce cups. You can also substitute frozen shrimp, just be sure to thaw them properly before marinating.
