Description

This sweet potato casserole is smooth, buttery, and lightly sweet with a golden, crunchy pecan topping that steals the show. Whether it’s a holiday table or a comfort food craving, this dish brings warmth, texture, and a whole lot of love to every bite.


Ingredients

For the filling:

4 cups mashed sweet potatoes (about 4 large)

½ cup light brown sugar, packed

¼ cup unsalted butter, melted

½ cup milk (any kind)

2 large eggs

1 tsp vanilla extract

½ tsp cinnamon

¼ tsp salt

For the pecan topping:

¾ cup light brown sugar

⅓ cup all-purpose flour

⅓ cup unsalted butter, melted

1 cup chopped pecans

Optional twists:

Add 12 tbsp maple syrup to the filling

Stir in orange zest for brightness

Top with mini marshmallows for extra decadence


Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 baking dish.

In a large bowl, mix sweet potatoes, brown sugar, butter, milk, eggs, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt until smooth. Pour into dish.

In a separate bowl, mix brown sugar, flour, butter, and pecans for the topping. Sprinkle evenly over the sweet potato mixture.

Bake uncovered for 35–40 minutes, or until topping is golden and center is set.

Let cool slightly before serving. Top with marshmallows if using and broil for 1–2 mins if desired.
