Ingredients
For the filling:
4 cups mashed sweet potatoes (about 4 large)
½ cup light brown sugar, packed
¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
½ cup milk (any kind)
2 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
½ tsp cinnamon
¼ tsp salt
For the pecan topping:
¾ cup light brown sugar
⅓ cup all-purpose flour
⅓ cup unsalted butter, melted
1 cup chopped pecans
Optional twists:
Add 1–2 tbsp maple syrup to the filling
Stir in orange zest for brightness
Top with mini marshmallows for extra decadence
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 baking dish.
In a large bowl, mix sweet potatoes, brown sugar, butter, milk, eggs, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt until smooth. Pour into dish.
In a separate bowl, mix brown sugar, flour, butter, and pecans for the topping. Sprinkle evenly over the sweet potato mixture.
Bake uncovered for 35–40 minutes, or until topping is golden and center is set.
Let cool slightly before serving. Top with marshmallows if using and broil for 1–2 mins if desired.
