Ingredients

Scale

For the Fries:

1 bag (28 oz) frozen French fries or 4 large russet potatoes, cut into fries

2 tbsp olive oil

Salt to taste

For the Chili:

1 lb ground beef

1 small onion, diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 (15 oz) can kidney beans, drained

1 (15 oz) can crushed tomatoes

2 tbsp tomato paste

1 tbsp chili powder

1 tsp cumin

Salt and pepper to taste

Toppings:

2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

Sliced green onions (optional)

Sour cream (optional)

Jalapeños (optional)

Instructions

Cook the fries: Bake or air-fry fries as per package directions or until golden and crispy. If using fresh potatoes, toss in olive oil and bake at 425°F (220°C) for 30–35 minutes, flipping halfway.

Make the chili: In a skillet, cook ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.

Add onion and garlic, sauté until softened. Stir in beans, crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, and spices. Simmer for 15–20 minutes until thickened.

Assemble: Layer fries on a large platter or baking dish. Spoon hot chili over fries, then sprinkle with cheddar cheese.

Melt & Serve: Pop the platter in the oven for 5–7 minutes at 375°F (190°C) until cheese melts. Top with green onions, sour cream, or jalapeños if desired.
