BBQ Mac and Cheese Tot Skillet

Description

A bubbling, cheesy pan of decadent macaroni and cheese topped with crispy, golden tater tots and slathered in your favorite BBQ sauce.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups Elbow Macaroni
  • 2 cups Sharp Cheddar Cheese, shredded
  • 4 oz Cream Cheese
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 3 cups Tater Tots
  • 1 cup BBQ Sauce
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Pepper
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 tsp Onion Powder
  • 2 Green Onions, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the Pasta: Boil salted water and add elbow macaroni, cooking until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Prepare the Cheese Sauce: In a skillet over medium heat, combine milk and cream cheese, stirring until melted. Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  3. Add the Cheddar: Gradually stir in shredded cheddar cheese until melted.
  4. Combine Pasta and Cheese: Fold the cooked macaroni into the cheese sauce.
  5. Top with BBQ Sauce: Drizzle BBQ sauce over the mixture.
  6. Arrange Tater Tots: Place tater tots on top of the mac and cheese.
  7. Bake to Perfection: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and bake for 15-20 minutes until tots are golden and everything is bubbly.
  8. Garnish and Serve: Cool for a few minutes, garnish with green onions, and enjoy!

Notes

For an extra crispy finish, switch to broil for the last 2-3 minutes of baking. Feel free to mix in extra cheese varieties for added flavor.
