- 4 cups All-Purpose Flour
- 1 cup Warm Water
- 2 ½ teaspoons Active Dry Yeast
- 2 tablespoons Honey
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 2 tablespoons Olive Oil
- Cornmeal (for dusting)
Instructions
- Activate the yeast by combining warm water and honey, sprinkle yeast on top, and let it sit until frothy.
- Mix the dry ingredients by whisking together flour and salt in a large bowl.
- Combine the yeast mixture with dry ingredients and olive oil, stirring until the dough comes together.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- First rise: Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for about 1 hour until doubled in size.
- Shape muffins by rolling out the dough and cutting out circles.
- Second rise: Let cut muffins rise for another 30 minutes.
- Cook the muffins on a griddle over medium-low heat for 6-8 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Cool on a wire rack before toasting and serving.
