Ingredients
- Cheddar Cheese (8 ounces)
- Pretzel Buns (12 count)
- Ground Beef (1 pound)
- Butter (2 tablespoons)
- Sea Salt (1 tablespoon)
- Sugar (1 teaspoon)
- Baking Soda (1 tablespoon)
- All-purpose Flour (2 cups)
- Active Dry Yeast (1 packet)
- Warm Water (1 cup)
Instructions
- Prepare your oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C), and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Make the pretzel dough: In a large bowl, mix warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
- Mix in the flour: Stir in flour and salt until a ragged dough forms, then knead on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
- Let the dough rise: Place in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour until doubled in size.
- Shape the pretzel buns: Punch the dough down, divide into 12 pieces, roll into balls, then flatten slightly.
- Prepare the boiling solution: In a pot, bring water to a gentle boil and add baking soda.
- Boil the buns: Drop each dough ball into boiling water for about 30 seconds, then remove and place on the baking sheet.
- Brush and sprinkle: Melt the butter, brush each bun, and sprinkle with sea salt.
- Bake: Bake for about 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
- Assemble the sliders: Slice the buns, cook ground beef in a pan, layer with cheese, and bake for another 5 minutes until cheese melts.
- Serve: Place tops back on sliders and serve immediately!
