Description

Delicious Cheddar Pretzel Sliders loaded with gooey cheddar cheese and nestled in soft pretzel buns—perfect for game day or casual gatherings!

Ingredients

  • Cheddar Cheese (8 ounces)
  • Pretzel Buns (12 count)
  • Ground Beef (1 pound)
  • Butter (2 tablespoons)
  • Sea Salt (1 tablespoon)
  • Sugar (1 teaspoon)
  • Baking Soda (1 tablespoon)
  • All-purpose Flour (2 cups)
  • Active Dry Yeast (1 packet)
  • Warm Water (1 cup)

Instructions

  1. Prepare your oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C), and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Make the pretzel dough: In a large bowl, mix warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  3. Mix in the flour: Stir in flour and salt until a ragged dough forms, then knead on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
  4. Let the dough rise: Place in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour until doubled in size.
  5. Shape the pretzel buns: Punch the dough down, divide into 12 pieces, roll into balls, then flatten slightly.
  6. Prepare the boiling solution: In a pot, bring water to a gentle boil and add baking soda.
  7. Boil the buns: Drop each dough ball into boiling water for about 30 seconds, then remove and place on the baking sheet.
  8. Brush and sprinkle: Melt the butter, brush each bun, and sprinkle with sea salt.
  9. Bake: Bake for about 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Assemble the sliders: Slice the buns, cook ground beef in a pan, layer with cheese, and bake for another 5 minutes until cheese melts.
  11. Serve: Place tops back on sliders and serve immediately!
