Delicious and comforting Cheesy BBQ Chicken Dumplings, crispy on the outside and loaded with tender chicken, melty cheese, and smoky BBQ flavor.
Ingredients
- Dumpling Wrappers (store-bought or homemade)
- Cooked Chicken (preferably shredded)
- Barbecue Sauce
- Shredded Cheddar Cheese
- Cream Cheese (softened)
- Green Onions (chopped)
- Cooking Oil (for frying)
Instructions
- Prep Your Chicken Mixture: In a large bowl, combine shredded chicken, BBQ sauce, softened cream cheese, and chopped green onions. Mix well until everything is fully incorporated.
- Wrap It Up: Take a dumpling wrapper and place about a tablespoon of your chicken mixture in the center. Wet the edges with water and fold the wrapper in half, pressing the edges together to seal tightly.
- Heat the Oil: In a large skillet, heat about 2 tablespoons of oil over medium heat. Once hot, carefully add the dumplings and cook for about 3–5 minutes until the bottoms are golden brown.
- Steam the Dumplings: Carefully pour in about 1/4 cup of water to the skillet and cover immediately. Allow them to steam for about 5–7 minutes.
- Crisp It Up: After steaming, remove the lid and let the dumplings cook for a couple more minutes until the water evaporates, and the bottoms are crispy again.
- Serving: Transfer your golden dumplings to a plate, serve them warm, and don’t forget a side of extra BBQ sauce for dipping!
