Description
Indulge in this creamy, protein-packed dark chocolate mousse that offers a guilt-free way to satisfy your sweet tooth.
Ingredients
- Dark Chocolate (70% or higher)
- Eggs (3 large)
- Protein Powder (1/2 cup, chocolate or vanilla flavored)
- Maple Syrup or Honey (1-2 tablespoons)
- Vanilla Extract (1 teaspoon)
- Salt (a pinch)
- Heavy Cream (1 cup, for whipping)
Instructions
- Melt the Chocolate: Begin by chopping your dark chocolate into small pieces for quicker melting. Place it in a heatproof bowl over a pot of simmering water and stir until melted.
- Whip the Cream: Beat the heavy cream in a separate bowl using an electric mixer until soft peaks form. Set aside.
- Prepare the Egg Mixture: Whisk the eggs with maple syrup, salt, and vanilla extract until foamy and pale, about 3-5 minutes.
- Combine Chocolate and Eggs: Gradually fold the melted chocolate into the egg mixture while preserving air.
- Add Protein Powder: Mix in the protein powder until fully incorporated.
- Fold in the Whipped Cream: Gently fold the whipped cream into the chocolate mixture for a light texture.
- Chill Out: Spoon the mousse into serving dishes and refrigerate for at least 1-2 hours before serving.
Notes
For best results, use quality dark chocolate and ensure your eggs are at room temperature for better whipping.
