A delightful homemade peach jam that captures the essence of summer with juicy peaches and a touch of nostalgia.

Ingredients

  • Fresh Peaches (4 cups)
  • Granulated Sugar (2 cups)
  • Lemon Juice (1/4 cup)
  • Pectin (1 package)
  • Water (1/4 cup)
  • Optional Spices (like cinnamon or ginger)

Instructions

  1. Prepare your peaches: Wash them under cool water, cut in half, and remove pits.
  2. Chop and mash: Chop the peaches into small chunks.
  3. Cook the peaches: Combine peaches, sugar, and lemon juice in a saucepan; heat until sugar dissolves.
  4. Dissolve the pectin: Mix pectin with 1/4 cup of water, then add to peaches; bring to a boil.
  5. Boil and thicken: Boil for 5-10 minutes until thickened.
  6. Can your jam: Ladle hot jam into sterilized jars, leaving 1/4 inch headspace.
  7. Seal and store: Place lids on jars, let cool to room temperature.

Notes

If your jam doesn’t set, re-cook with more pectin. Homemade peach jam can last up to 1 year if properly sealed.
