- 1 pound Ground Pork
- 1 cup Grated Granny Smith Apples
- ¼ cup Maple Syrup
- 1 teaspoon Onion Powder
- 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
- 1 teaspoon Sage
- ½ teaspoon Salt
- ½ teaspoon Black Pepper
- 1 Egg
Instructions
- Mix in a large mixing bowl the ground pork, grated apples, maple syrup, onion powder, garlic powder, sage, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
- Form about 2-3 tablespoons of the mixture into small patties (2-3 inches wide) and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Preheat a non-stick skillet or cast-iron pan on medium heat and add a touch of cooking oil.
- Sizzle the patties, cooking for 5-7 minutes on one side until golden-brown, then flip and cook for another 5 minutes until cooked through.
- Rest the cooked patties on a plate lined with paper towels for a minute to absorb excess grease before serving.
Notes
Feel free to experiment with substitutions and add spices to suit your taste. You can also make a vegan version using mashed chickpeas or oats.
