Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound Ground Pork
  • 1 cup Grated Granny Smith Apples
  • ¼ cup Maple Syrup
  • 1 teaspoon Onion Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Sage
  • ½ teaspoon Salt
  • ½ teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 1 Egg

Instructions

  1. Mix in a large mixing bowl the ground pork, grated apples, maple syrup, onion powder, garlic powder, sage, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
  2. Form about 2-3 tablespoons of the mixture into small patties (2-3 inches wide) and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  3. Preheat a non-stick skillet or cast-iron pan on medium heat and add a touch of cooking oil.
  4. Sizzle the patties, cooking for 5-7 minutes on one side until golden-brown, then flip and cook for another 5 minutes until cooked through.
  5. Rest the cooked patties on a plate lined with paper towels for a minute to absorb excess grease before serving.

Notes

Feel free to experiment with substitutions and add spices to suit your taste. You can also make a vegan version using mashed chickpeas or oats.
