Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

  2. Mix the rolled oats, all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Combine your melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth. Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing well.
  4. Bring your wet mixture into the dry ingredients, folding gently with a spatula.
  5. Stir in the chocolate chips, reserving a few for topping.
  6. Scoop rounded balls of dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, spacing them apart.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden and centers look set but slightly soft.
  8. Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.

Notes

Chill your dough for at least 30 minutes before baking for a bakery-fresh feel.
