  • 1 cup Buttermilk
  • 1 cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 tablespoon Baking Powder
  • ½ cup Honey, plus extra for drizzling
  • 2 tablespoons Hot Sauce
  • ¼ cup Butter (unsalted)
  • Bisquick or Biscuit Mix (optional)
  • Salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder (to taste)
  • Chopped Fresh Parsley (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. Start by seasoning your chicken pieces with salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder.
  2. Place the seasoned chicken in a bowl and pour in the buttermilk, marinating for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, and half the melted butter in another bowl.
  4. Drizzle in some milk while stirring until the biscuit dough forms.
  5. Lightly flour a work surface and pat the dough out to about 1-inch thick, then cut out biscuits.
  6. Preheat a cast-iron skillet over medium heat, melting the remaining butter.
  7. Add the marinated chicken to the skillet and sear for about 3-4 minutes per side.
  8. Mix honey and hot sauce in a bowl, then pour over the chicken once fully cooked.
  9. Nestle the biscuits on top of the chicken and drizzle with more melted butter.
  10. Transfer the skillet to a preheated oven at 425°F (220°C) for about 15-20 minutes.
  11. Let cool for a few minutes before serving, garnishing with fresh parsley.
