- 1 cup Buttermilk
- 1 cup All-Purpose Flour
- 1 tablespoon Baking Powder
- ½ cup Honey, plus extra for drizzling
- 2 tablespoons Hot Sauce
- ¼ cup Butter (unsalted)
- Bisquick or Biscuit Mix (optional)
- Salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder (to taste)
- Chopped Fresh Parsley (for garnish, optional)
Instructions
- Start by seasoning your chicken pieces with salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder.
- Place the seasoned chicken in a bowl and pour in the buttermilk, marinating for at least 30 minutes.
- Combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, and half the melted butter in another bowl.
- Drizzle in some milk while stirring until the biscuit dough forms.
- Lightly flour a work surface and pat the dough out to about 1-inch thick, then cut out biscuits.
- Preheat a cast-iron skillet over medium heat, melting the remaining butter.
- Add the marinated chicken to the skillet and sear for about 3-4 minutes per side.
- Mix honey and hot sauce in a bowl, then pour over the chicken once fully cooked.
- Nestle the biscuits on top of the chicken and drizzle with more melted butter.
- Transfer the skillet to a preheated oven at 425°F (220°C) for about 15-20 minutes.
- Let cool for a few minutes before serving, garnishing with fresh parsley.
Notes
For a gluten-free option, substitute with a gluten-free biscuit mix or almond flour. Adjust spices to your heat preference.
