- 24 oz Tomato Sauce
- 1 lb Ground Beef or Turkey
- 1 medium Onion, chopped
- 2 cloves Garlic, minced
- 2 cups Cheese, shredded mozzarella
- 2 tsp Italian Seasoning
- Salt and Pepper, to taste
- Fresh Basil (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Prepare your campfire.
- Cook the pasta by boiling a pot of water over the fire, then adding the spaghetti and cooking for 8-10 minutes.
- Sauté the onion and garlic in a skillet over the fire.
- Add the ground meat to the pan and cook until browned.
- Mix in the tomato sauce and seasoning, simmering for 5 minutes.
- Combine the cooked spaghetti with the sauce.
- Cheesy layering by mixing in half the cheese and topping with the rest.
- Bake over the fire for 15-20 minutes until the cheese is bubbly.
- Serve hot and garnish with fresh basil if desired.
