Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 3/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup protein powder (vanilla or chocolate flavor)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Brown the Butter: Start by placing your unsalted butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Stir it occasionally until it melts and begins to foam. Keep an eye on it for a beautiful amber color. Remove from heat and let cool.
  2. Mix the Sugars: In a large mixing bowl, combine the brown sugar and granulated sugar. Pour in the cooled brown butter and stir until well combined.
  3. Add the Extracts and Salt: Mix in the salt and vanilla extract.
  4. Incorporate the Protein Powder and Flour: Gradually add in the protein powder and flour, stirring until fully mixed.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips and nuts, mixing gently.
  6. Chill Time: Scoop tablespoons of the dough onto a lined baking sheet or keep in a covered bowl. Chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.
  7. Enjoy!: Eat it raw or bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10-12 minutes, until golden at the edges.

Notes

Can be served chilled or baked. For a gourmet touch, sprinkle with sea salt before serving.
