Ingredients

- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 3/4 cup light brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup protein powder (vanilla or chocolate flavor)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
- Brown the Butter: Start by placing your unsalted butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Stir it occasionally until it melts and begins to foam. Keep an eye on it for a beautiful amber color. Remove from heat and let cool.
- Mix the Sugars: In a large mixing bowl, combine the brown sugar and granulated sugar. Pour in the cooled brown butter and stir until well combined.
- Add the Extracts and Salt: Mix in the salt and vanilla extract.
- Incorporate the Protein Powder and Flour: Gradually add in the protein powder and flour, stirring until fully mixed.
- Fold in the chocolate chips and nuts, mixing gently.
- Chill Time: Scoop tablespoons of the dough onto a lined baking sheet or keep in a covered bowl. Chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.
- Enjoy!: Eat it raw or bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10-12 minutes, until golden at the edges.
Notes
Can be served chilled or baked. For a gourmet touch, sprinkle with sea salt before serving.
