- 2 slices of bread (your choice: white, whole wheat, sourdough, or gluten-free)
- 1 large egg
- 2 slices of bacon or 1 sausage patty
- 1 slice of cheese (cheddar, Swiss, or pepper jack)
- a few leaves of lettuce or spinach
- 1 slice of tomato
- Butter or oil (for cooking)
Instructions
- Grab your bread slices and heat a skillet over medium heat. Add butter or oil and toast each side until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes.
- Toss in your bacon or sausage and cook until crispy, about 4-6 minutes.
- Push the meat to the side and crack the egg into the skillet; cook until the whites are set, about 2-3 minutes.
- Assemble the sandwich with bacon (or sausage), cooked egg, cheese, fresh greens, and tomato between the toasted bread slices.
- Press down slightly on the sandwich in the skillet for about a minute to melt the cheese.
